Death

Death is an interesting topic to all of us. In different religions you get many different takes on it, from purgatory to paradise, or hell, it is all a matter of personal beliefs. The religion that you belong to inputs what you think about death, as does just the way that you grow up and the things that you are taught. Recently we all have dealt with the death of a beloved Prophet of the LDS church. It was a shock, and yet completely expected. When you looked around in the last few days you didn't see a whole lot of grieving...it was all more of a celebration, a celebration of life and a good life lived, and a happy thought that once again he is with his beloved wife. That is something that is different in many many ways.
In essence Death is normally unexpected and tends to be something that sneaks up on us and that all of us in some form or another, fear. I myself think of death as just another part of life, and that it is something to look forward to in the end. Yet, in all of our beliefs around the world, I still believe that death in and of itself, is a mystery, and as such it is feared by all of us.

Sleeping in....

Sleeping in....now that is a luxury. Going to bed really late because you were out doing something fun, and then not getting out of bed until ten or eleven o'clock. That is something that feels absolutely wonderful and yet we as students, on average, do not get to experience that very often if ever. Day in and day out we are on the move, hardly even sitting down to eat, so when we do get a break....it is a luxury. Sleeping in.....I wish that I could do that a lot more often.

Classic Books

Classic Books....what is it that you think of when you hear that? In my case it has usually been either some boring english assignment or some form of torture. At least that is what I used to think of when I heard that. Now it is quite different. I have actually started to collect quite a few of the classic novels.
All from a different sort of category from Jane Austen, to Bram Stoker, or Leo Tolstoy....they all have some sort of something to add to your everyday life. You may not directly relate to the story in and of itself but there is always something in the books that you can easily apply to your own life. It is interesting at how different the authors views of the world are, and yet they can all be related in some way or another.
I still must say that I do not look forward to reading all the classics since I believe some to be corrupt, but perhaps even those have something to learn from them,.....even if it is too just never read it again....every book as something to add to your life. It is only right, and fair that you also allow the classic novels to have a chance to influence your life as well.

Food and Life

Seafood, Mexican, Italian, etc....all different but not all good. Every food has a different flavor, texture, and even color. Differences make food and life, in general, more interesting for everyone. Everyone enjoys things to be interesting, most prefer it to be fairly predictable but it never hurts to add a little spice to the day to day routine either.
Those are the things that people notice, that is why somepeople like somethings while others don't....all because of the difference between things and opinions on those things. Life and food can be compared and contrasted quite easily but all things considered they are connected in one way or another.
